President’s Report:
*Sat in on several investigations. *Presented two Step 3 Grievances
after attending the Labor Management Meeting. *Attended the two-day Health
Conference in Bloomington. We sent
16 delegates and we learned about the new AFSCME Council 5 movement "The 5%
Solution". It's basic premise
is that no one in Minnesota (and hopefully Nation-wide) should pay more then 5%
of their yearly income to Health Insurance. * The annual Day-on-the-Hill will
be April 1st and 2nd, 2008, 3 members will be attending on Tuesday, April 1st,
2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverfront, 11 E. Kellogg Blvd. in St. Paul, MN
and the Minnesota State Capitol on April 1st. *Most of the sweatshirts and hats
are gone (mainly from the huge number of member turnouts at the union meetings).
New sweatshirt and hat styles will be ordered soon. Feel free to give
President Henderson some suggestions.

Vice President’s Report:
*The Labor Management Meeting was today and such
topics discussed were the following: Motorcycle Parking (Management
stated that there will be expanded motorcycle parking in the near future),
Officer Bid postings (can there be a back-up person in HR to ensure Officer bids
are posted in a timely manner?) Management stated that Sue Zustiak is the new HR
person in charge of bids and her back-up will be Kristine Wahlberg, first Watch
Squad duties: Salting and sanding sidewalks? (Management said that it is
everybody's duty to report and possibly salt/sand slick spots), refrigerators
needed at the truck gate and in the B-Building staff break room (Management said
that refridgerators will be added), and clarification regarding awarding Officer
bids (bids used to come down on Monday mornings but they will now go up on
Wednesdays (12:01 AM) and come down at 8:00 AM on Tuesday mornings to follow the
contract closer). *Sat in on several
investigations. *Presented two Step 3 Grievances
today (one 3-day suspension and one 5-day suspension) and we're awaiting
Management's decisions.
